WHAT IS BOTOX?

BOTOX Cosmetic is the only treatment of its type approved by the FDA for this use. The treatment is minimally invasive and non surgical. It requires no recovery time and causes little discomfort. Dr. Ali makes a few tiny injections into the muscles that cause the frown lines between your brows. However, there is no need for anesthesia. The entire procedure takes approximately ten minutes. Discomfort is minimal – most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. You may resume normal activity immediately. HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Most patients only require one treatment appointment to achieve optimal results. Your treatment appointments will include several units of this treatment injected into the skin surface at targeted areas of treatment, predominately the area between the eyebrows and wrinkles on the mid-face, such as those around the eyes, the nose, and the mouth. Botox® treatments are recommended once every 3 or 4 months.

HOW MUCH DOES BOTOX® COST?

At WellMedica we charge by area starting at $475 and up. Pricing by area is set at what the average cost would be for the number of units needed in each area. To ensure that your Botox procedure is affordable, we accept a variety of payment methods including special financing plans.Beware of anyone offering Botox® regularly for less than what you usually see in the area. Many providers offering Botox® might be highly discounted because they import their product at a discount from outside the United States, making the product being used just as real as a “designer” bag but it is fake. Remember, when you are injecting a substance into your body it is not something to bargain hunt.

WHAT TO EXPECT BEFORE AND AFTER BOTOX® TREATMENT?

In the days leading up to your Botox® injection, it’s best to follow a couple of simple steps. These will help to improve the results and minimize potential side effects. Here’s what to do in the week before Botox® injections:

Avoid Aspirin or Anti-inflammatory medication
Avoid Alcohol – At least for 2 to 3 days before the procedure.

To best prepare yourself, follow these steps on the day of your treatment:

Avoid applying Skip Makeup in the area of injection.
Stay Calm

Aftercare instructions post-Botox®:

Exercise the muscles around the treated areas like smiling, frowning, raising your eyebrows, clenching your jaws etc.
Avoid lying down for at least 5-6 hours after receiving the injections.
Avoid strenuous activity immediately following treatment.
You can gently apply a cold gel pack (available if needed) to reduce bruising.
Avoid touching or rubbing in the area treated by Botox®.

Bruising and swelling is to be expected with possible swollen spots from the needle injection sites. Botox® can take up to 2 weeks to fully work however, You may start to notice the effect as soon as 3 days.

IS IT SAFE?

Botox® gained the United States government’s FDA approval in 1989 for the treatment of eyelid spasms. In 2002, Botox® gained its official FDA approval for the treatment of glabellar wrinkles also known as “frown lines” also known as the “11 lines.”

Botox® has historically been used in cosmetic and non-cosmetic cases such as in hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), to treating bruxism (involuntary grinds their teeth), reshaping jawline making it more oval-shaped, reducing chin dimpling or “peau d’orange”, reducing the appearance of bands on the neck, treatment of marionette lines- lifting corners of the mouth, bunny lines, crow’s feet, and to smoothen lines on the outer corner of the eye “crows feet”.
