WHAT IS DAXXIFY® (New Botox®)?

The new Botox®, which has recently been FDA-approved, “Daxxify®,” is now available! This new product may offer strong competition for this iconic anti-aging treatment. DAXXIFY, or “DAXXI,” is an injectable neurotoxin that is FDA-approved to treat moderate to severe frown lines between eyebrows, commonly referred to as the 11’s or glabellar lines. Using the same class of active ingredient—a purified botulinum toxin type A protein—as other injectable neurotoxins such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, and Xeomin®. Daxxify® works by temporarily blocking nerve signals to treated muscles. Once injected, Daxxify® softens expression lines caused by repeated muscle contractions.

This injectable neuromodulator may also be used off-label to treat other facial lines and wrinkles, such as forehead area, crow’s feet, bunny lines (on the nose), and masseter muscles to soften a square, bulky jaw while reducing the clenching and grinding associated with TMJ. Other areas like platysma bands in the neck and dimpling of the chin can be treated.

IS DAXXIFY® RIGHT FOR ME?

You might be an excellent candidate for Daxxify® if you are over 18, in good health, not nursing or pregnant, and ideally a non-smoker. It may also be more appropriate for people who first tried another injectable or developed resistance (antibodies) to the other injectables.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DAXXIFY® AND BOTOX®?

One thing that sets Daxxify® apart from Botox and other neuromodulators is its duration of effectiveness. Daxxify® doesn’t contain human or animal products and is made from peptides as stabilizers. Peptides may help make Daxxify® last longer as a wrinkle-smoother than other neuromodulators. In studies, Daxxify® worked to treat wrinkles in most people with minimal side effects compared to Botox. Another benefit is how quickly results are evident, which can be as little as one day.

Another key difference is that DAXXIFY® is manufactured in California and is the only prescription frown line treatment made in the United States. Conventional treatments are manufactured in other countries and imported into the United States.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

In clinical trials, at least half of patients showed results in frown lines at six months. If you’re like most people, you probably get frown line treatment around twice a year. But here’s the thing: conventional treatments only last 3–4 months. If you cannot get treated every 3-4 months, you may spend the next 2-3 months of the year with those frown lines staring back at you between treatments. WHAT TO EXPECT BEFORE AND AFTER TREATMENT?

The preparation will be the same, like Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, or Jeuveau® treatment if you had treatments before. Here’s a quick list of tips to help you get the most out of your Daxxi treatments:

DAXXIFY® injections are typically performed with a small needle; people describe the injections as a little pinch. If you are concerned about discomfort, we provide options to minimize pain, such as icing the area before treatment. Immediately after treatment, Daxxi aftercare is easy. There is a possibility that the area around the injection site swells, turns red, and causes pain or tenderness from the injection itself; however, these side effects are typically very minor and go away after a few hours or days

Take a break from the gym in the first 24 hrs.
Avoid lying flat in the first four hrs. to prevent migration.
Keep your skin clean.
Avoid Putting pressure on treated areas.

Treatment with DAXXIFY® requires minimal downtime, and you can return to your daily routine immediately after your appointment. You may see results with DAXXIFY® as early as the next day after treatment and typically within two days.
