The warts are often said to look like cauliflower. They are usually red, pink, or tan growths that can sometimes be very hard to see. As noted prior they tend to grow in groups or clusters of three or four. These growths tend to spread very rapidly.
There are over 100 types of HPV, but just a few can cause genital warts. This condition can be treated, but it also can come back if it not treated properly. This infection is also known to be extremely contagious, and can spread very easily with sexual contact. Warts can cause discomfort such as irritation, itching, bleeding, and pain. It can also lead to rectal, penile, mouth and throat, and most commonly cervix cancer making it a serious infection for many.
Those that have more sexual partners are more likely to contract genital warts, as well as those that are sexually active at a young age. According to research those that drink alcohol or smoke, are pregnant, and have high levels of stress are also at a greater risk to get genital warts. One is also more likely to become infected if they have another viral infection such as herpes, or a weakened immune system from other STDS like HIV or AIDS.
There is no treatment for the virus itself, however you can treat the actual warts. People mainly treat HPV for cosmetic and appearance concerns, many can feel embarrassed by this infection. Here at WellMedica we treat the appearance and removal of these warts with a series of medications, no-downtime lasers, and medical advice from our doctor.
