WHAT IS VOTIVA FORMAV?

FormaV is a vaginal rejuvenation procedure that tightens the vaginal canal, both internally and externally, by promoting the remodeling of collagen and elastin. FormaV helps with by providing relief for many issues affecting women’s health, ranging from postmenopausal vulvovaginal symptoms (i.e. dryness, burning, itching), stress urinary incontinence, sexual dysfunction or discomfort, vaginal laxity, and external labial appearance.

FormaV uses a combination of radiofrequency energy and localized heat for tissue remodeling, resulting in the tightening of the tissues over time. Its uniform heat is designed to tighten the muscles of the pelvic wall, while the fractional radiofrequency energy penetrates through the skin to help you see results faster.

Vaginal rejuvenation is designed for healthy women with realistic expectations. Because the treatment is nonsurgical, it is suitable for a wide range of patients. FormaV may be an ideal treatment if you are looking to treat vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, urinary incontinence, vaginal laxity, lack of sexual pleasure, and decreased vaginal lubrication, or looking to improve the external labia minora and majora's overall aesthetic without the need for surgery. A series of 3 Votiva FormaV treatments are recommended once every month for 3 months, followed by a follow up visit with Dr. Dima. We will likely recommend a single maintenance treatment once every 9 - 12 months to maintain your desired results.

Prior to FormaV treatment, we ask that the treatment area is shaved at least 24 hours prior. There’s no downtime associated with this procedure, so you can go back to your regular daily activities immediately following your appointment. Dr. Dima will initially assess your condition using standardized photos, a Kegel perineometer, and validated questionnaires for realistic expectations.

During each treatment, a small amount of gel will be applied to the wand to ensure your comfort. Once the FormaV wand is inserted into the vaginal canal, you will likely feel the slow, rotating movement of the wand to ensure even distribution of the radiofrequency energy and heat on the vaginal wall. The WellMedica team will treat the entire length of the vaginal canal within approximately 45- 60 minutes to ensure the best results.

Following your FormaV treatment, there is typically no downtime. Some patients may experience slight sensitivity or discomfort following treatment, but these symptoms quickly subside. Sexual intercourse should be avoided for the first 48 hours after treatment.
