All these conditions deal with vaginal pain, and all have symptoms that are treatable with ThermiVa – the latest and best non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation treatment on the market. Keep reading to learn more about these conditions, and how ThermiVa can help you!
Vulvodynia
This is chronic vulvar pain in one area, or more. The type of pain has been described as burning, rawness, itching, and throbbing after insertion during intercourse or while applying tampons. Until very recently, doctors did not even recognize this as a real pain syndrome. Therefore, many do not receive diagnosis. This condition also has no known cause which makes treating vulvodynia extremely difficult.
Vestibulodynia
This is when pain or discomfort occurs in the vuvla, specifically the vestibule, which is one of the most sensitive parts of the body. The pain is felt whenever there is pressure applied to the region. Vestibulodynia sensation differs from woman to woman but can include itching, burning, and inflammation. What is believed to be the cause of pain is an excessive sensitivity of the nerve fibers, and on occasion an overgrowth of the nerve fibers in the area. Vestibulodynia is not only one of the most difficult conditions for doctors to make a diagnosis, but it is also very hard to treat.
Vaginismus
Vaginismus is vaginal tightness that results from the involuntary tightening of the pelvic floor, especially the pubcoccygeus (PC) muscle group. This causes the vagina to go in panic, and the anticipation of vaginal penetration to be too much to bear. This is a medical condition that is not just “in a woman’s head” and is a very real physical pain from the panic of penetration. Most women with vaginismus attempt to treat this condition with different exercises to relax the vaginal muscles such as kegels, however this is not a permanent solution.
Treating Vulvodynia and more with ThermiVa
As you can read above treating vulvodynia and other vaginal pain conditions has been extremely difficult – until now! We have been so lucky to have women dealing with this condition come in for treatment at WellMedica, and experience amazing results. Watch below to see one of our patients give a testimonial on how ThermiVa helped cure a condition she dealt with her entire life.
How ThermiVa works
ThermiVa uses radiofrequency energy to gently heat tissue to reclaim, restore and revive feminine wellness, without discomfort or downtime. ThermiVa uses a special wand applicator which may be applied externally to labia and vulvar tissues to restore normal tissue tone and function. The specially designed hand piece also delivers radio-frequency energy inside the vagina to revive atrophic tissue and other structures. The radiofrequency helps to shrink the structures that can sometimes cause pain in the conditions listed above.
ThermiVa and Other Conditions
Vaginal rejuvenation can help with several other conditions such as incontinence which is when you have trouble making it to the bathroom. ThermiVa has been known to decrease leakage and allow women to hold their bladder for longer periods of time. It can also help women that are self-conscious with the outer appearance of their vagina as it helps to tighten up external areas. Lastly, it has dramatically helped women who have reached menopause or those that have had children and wish to reclaim the body they once had. This is for, as explained above, it tightens the vaginal walls and muscles making the vagina less loose and dry.t
