WHAT IS BOTOX® FOR HYPERHIDROSIS (BOTOX® FOR SWEATING)?
Sweating for no reason and nothing helped? Botox® for hyperhidrosis has been FDA-approved for severe underarm sweating when topical agents don’t work. It may be used “off-label” to reduce sweating in other areas such as the feet, face, hands, and between buttocks. Botox® treatment helps control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops. At WellMedica, we offer Botox® for hyperhidrosis, also referred to as Botox® for sweating.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING AND AFTER BOTOX® FOR HYPERHIDROSIS TREATMENT?
The procedure is a simple one. Your appointment will likely take 45 minutes, but the injections will only take 20 minutes.
The area of concern will be marked with ink, and an ultra-fine needle will be used to precisely inject small amounts of Botox® just below the marked areas. You will receive an average of 15 - 20 injections that form a grid pattern around the area of concern with minimal and brief discomfort. Local anesthetic is not required but applied if requested by the patient. You may resume your normal day’s activities right away.
WHEN DOES THE BOTOX® KICK IN FOR SWEATING?
You should notice a reduction in underarm sweating 4 days after the injections, while full effect takes place within 2 weeks of your first treatment. Botox® in this area can last up to 6 - 10 months. The effects of Botox® are temporary and after this time, your symptoms will return gradually, and you will know it’s time for another treatment. Dr. Dima Ali will decide on a treatment strategy specifically for you, so that you receive the best possible results.
Results may not last as long for the hands and feet, and you may require more frequent treatments after about 6 months. If you decide not to have further treatment, there will be no lasting change in the treated areas. The effects of Botox® treatment will gradually wear off, and your sweating will resume.
WHAT IS THE COST OF THE BOTOX® FOR HYPERHIDROSIS?
The cost of Botox® injection for sweating varies depending on numerous factors but generally starts at $1,400. To ensure that your Botox® procedure is affordable, we accept a variety of payment methods including special financing plans like CareCredit.
Beware of anyone offering Botox® regularly for less than what you usually see in the area. Many providers offering Botox® might be highly discounted because they import their product at a discount from outside the United States, making the product being used just as real as a “designer” bag but it is fake. Remember, when you are injecting a substance into your body it is not something to bargain hunt.
TESTIMONIALS
What a relief to find WellMedica! I’ve always felt very insecure about my underarms. When wearing certain fabrics, antiperspirants never seemed to solve the problem of odor and wetness. After learning about Botox for sweating, I was eager to give it a try but was a bit nervous about having a “procedure.”
My experience at the WellMedica Center could not have been better! I was handled professionally, compassionately and was taken through a thorough educational consult before the procedure. Turns out I had nothing to worry about! The whole process was easy, went well and I had fantastic results. If you’re shopping around, look no further, you really can find the best quality and great customer service in one place! – Tammy
