WHAT IS VIVEVE?

WellMedica would like to introduce the latest clinically proven, non-surgical and minimally- invasive vaginal rejuvenation and urinary incontinence technology “Viveve” formerly known as Geneveve. We are proud to be the first in the DMV area to provide this treatment.

Many have sought out different treatment options to help get their bodies back. The Viveve does all this and more in helping with urinary incontinence, vaginal laxity and/or improvement of sexual function. Excessive stretching of the vaginal muscles is a common occurrence after vaginal birth or due to aging (menopause) when estrogen levels drop. Tissue regeneration of the muscular structure stops, and hence the collagen production is slower. The bladder and urinary tract become deficient leading to urinary incontinence.

WHAT TECHNOLOGY IS USED FOR VIVEVE?

This treatment uses clinically proven cryogen-cooled monopolar radiofrequency (CMRF) to uniformly deliver gentle volumetric heating while cooling delicate surface tissue via a small probe. This unique technology prompts the stimulation of the body’s natural collagen formation process. By encouraging your body to increase the amount of collagen in the vaginal tissue, you are also encouraging it to heal and function like it used to.

HOW MUCH DOES VIVEVE COST?

The cost starts at $4000 and up. (There are a variety of factors that determine the overall price). To ensure that your Viveve procedure is affordable, we accept a variety of payment methods including special financing plans. Unlike other practices, at WellMedica we treat the vaginal canal to tighten the tissues and restore the appearance of your labia majora and minora (internal and external treatment).

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING AND AFTER VIVEVE TREATMENT?

The Viveve is a comfortable single-session around 30- 45-minute treatment. During the visit, a small treatment tip (about the size of your thumb) is used on the internal and external tissue. The tip is then rotated while it alternately cools the surface and heats the soft tissue beneath. This is a dual process, that uses the cryogen cooling to protect the delicate vaginal tissue after it has been heated by the monopolar radiofrequency.

During this treatment the vaginal tissue is not injured. Therefore, one can return to all normal activities right after receiving treatment. This includes exercise, bathing, and of course intimacy! We encourage our patients to resume normal sexual activity that very same day.

Women typically begin to feel the results at about 30 days and the full effect at about 90 days. Depending on how you respond we may recommend a touch up treatment every year or as you see fit.
